Annette has been a fiber artist for many years with a particular interest in crochet, knitting and dyeing.

Over the past few years, I have rekindled my passion for crocheting and while I was able to teach myself more advanced techniques and stitches, it occurred to me that there does not seem to be a sort of database of stitches. That is precisely what this site is all about.

The goal for BeginCrochet is to provide a comprehensive library or database for all the different stitches and techniques associated with Crochet. It may take a little while to complete but eventually you will be able to search and find any crochet stitch you need for your particular pattern.

Hi there, my name is Annette Browning and just like many of you, I first learned to crochet from my Grandmother. As a kid growing up in Germany, we were taught a variety of skills such as sewing, darning, knitting, weaving and also crochet. Those were simply important things one needed to know.

Now that I am older, I crochet simply for the joy of it and my hope is that as I learn, I will be able to pass this knowledge on to you.
